On "A Happy New Year" from 1911: A Photo Post

"A Happy New Year" from 1911 to all my lovely readers!

This postcard was purchased back in September along with the other two I mentioned here. In my eyes, everything from the artwork to the coloring makes this a perfect postcard!

The lady in brown must be learning to skate, she does not look enthusiastic at all!
Wishing you all a happy start to the new year!

  1. Gorgeous! I just adore the scroll work around the word "postcard". The art, on both sides, that went into so many vintage and antique postcards never fails to delight and inspire (from a crafting perspective, generally speaking) me.

Joyful wishes for every day of 2016, my very dear friend!

    1. It really does make you want to get crafting when you look at some of them. I especially liked this one because the gold made me think of the detailing you see on medieval manuscripts, although, of course, very different.

  2. Where do you put all of the items you collect? Do you display or put away?

    1. Hi! It depends on what it is, although a lot is out or in use. My brooches get constantly worn, same with scarves, and my sewing patterns live in open train cases on the fireplace. Books, needless to say, are everywhere! I also have quite a few things mounted on my bedroom walls like postcards and a 60's fan. Things like dishes are mostly stored since most of those belonged to either of my grandmas and they add up to a lot more dishes than we need. :)
