On Turtle Tuesday: A Photo Post
It all started with the green one and resulted in five 70's-esque turtles converging on a cupcake.

On Clip on Earrings Turned Into a Sweater Clip and Other Swap Meet Things
While visiting the swap meet a few months ago in search of a green sweater for my rose bush costume, I came across these clip-on earrings, which while not exactly matching any thing on my lamp, I decided were too cheerful to pass up especially since they were only a dollar. It also gave me a really good excuse to attempt turning a set of clip-on earrings into a sweater clip, which I've been wanting to try for a while. Aside from struggling to get the chain open with a pair of needlenose pliers because I didn't have any gold jump rings (something I plan to remedy before doing this again), it was remarkably easy to loop the chain around the hole at the edge and comes with the benefit of getting to enjoy my clip-ons without my ears feeling like they're going to fall off.
Other vintage findings included a handful a pins, a small blue bag, and these two lovely framed prints (now dubbed Lady Grace and Lady Prudence).

On a Bat Pin: A Photo Post
Needed a bat pin to go with the craft I was doing at work today, so I made one! (Feel free to sing the Batman theme now with "Bat Pin" being substituted for "Batman" :p)

On a Cooky Cutter and a Box of Birds
Last week was not particularly pleasant (complete with smell of an un-locatable perished rodent at work, which is still in full force) and this week has started out windy, so unfortunately that means I won't be doing an outfit post this week because wind and skirts don't mix.
However, I would like to share my two bright spots that arrived in the mail last week!
First is this "Lazy Suzy" Cookie Cutter. I had been eyeballing it on Etsy for awhile and finally decided to buy it. While I haven't used it yet, just looking at it makes me happy and the fact that it came in the original box withe recipe makes me even happier.
The second item is this box of birds, or more specifically bird brooches. I bought the lot for the pink bird on the right (not the angry looking pink one at the bottom, which makes me think of the rocs in the Second Voyage of Sinbad story), but the rest have grown on me.

On a Charming Bracelet
I figured since the last three weeks have had Alice topics I might as well keep going and let it be this month's theme.
A good while back while looking for something else, I came across this Disney Alice in Wonderland charm bracelet on Etsy. Normally I don't wear a lot of bracelets that have things that dangle or that are chunky because it can make it difficult for me to type or do a number of other things for that matter, but I decided to get it because how often do you find a vintage charm bracelet for one of your favorite Disney movies?
Mine is missing the Alice and the dormouse charms (you can see the complete set on the Vintage Disney Alice in Wonderland blog here), which I passively look for on occasion. It turns out this is one of the harder Disney charm sets to track down (unlike the Jungle book bracelet, which seems to pop up everywhere), but who knows maybe someday I'll stumble across them accidentally!

On the Jam Rule: A Photo Post
Continuing with the Alice theme, although switching books...
According to the White Queen: "The rule is, jam to-morrow and jam yesterday — but never jam to-day."
Unless you're me and consider today to be tomorrow's yesterday and yesterday's tomorrow, therefore, allowing me to wear the jam pin I made to match my Through the Looking-Glass t-shirt whenever I want!

On How I "Felt" Compelled...
...to make several pins out of felt this month (sorry, but not really, for the pun). Normally, I do the majority of my felt crafting in December for Christmas related things, but every once in awhile I decide that I want to step away from sewing on a larger scale and end up coming up with something or other that I deem felt worthy.
This month I went in for animal pins. Earlier in the month I made two cats, one purple and one black. I wanted a more 50's bowling pin shape than the metal 60's pin I have and am pretty happy with them.
Last night, in light of Easter, spring, and my shockingly complete lack of jewelry with rabbits, I whipped up a quick bunny pin. I goofed on the legs a bit, but it actually turned out better because of my mistake.
Happy Spring and a happy Easter Eve!

On Antique Store Finds
Okay, playing catch up here since this post was originally meant for the last week of December.
For the past few years I had been trying to make it to my favorite antique store around Christmas and this year it finally happened. They had a really nice assortment of vintage ornaments, but I only ended up getting two.
I looked at a glitter bird, forgot to get it, and then ended up
receiving another one they had that I didn't see (and liked considerably
better) as a Christmas present and which I'm including here just because I like it so much.
I also came home with not one, but two hats.
The red one, which at first appeared to be part of another hat, I bought specifically to go with my favorite dress. It's my sole hat that is not a full hat and I'm pretty excited about that for no particular reason other than it's red and has a bow.
The floppy one I debated on, but loved the velvet trim. I do think at one point it had a bow or some other small object on the front since the velvet does have a square impression on it.
Last, found this beautiful scarf with stars, which unfortunately does not photograph well due to being so sheer, and this gloved hand brooch.
