What a fantastic family photo! The iconic red and white maple leaf flag that Canada is known for these days only came into play in 1965, so one doesn't come across awesome photos like this up here (of course Canada had a flag prior to that, but it was a modified version of the British Union Jack - which was great, too, don't get me wrong, it's just not the same as the maple leaf flag).

Isn't it? I was so tickled pink when I came across it (although I could probably say that for most photos for either side of my family, hehe)! I hadn't realized that about Canada's flag and agree it most certainly isn't the same as the maple leaf. :)
